The event - which features candidates for both the state Legislature and the Pierce County Council - runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday at University Place City Hall.

Yoshie Wong and incumbent Mike Carrell, from the State Senate race for Legislative District 28, will be joining the other candidates at the Candidate Forum in University Place on Thursday, Oct. 4.

The Tacoma-Pierce County Chapter of the League of Women Voters will moderate this Forum at University Place City Hall, 3715 Bridgeport Way West, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Also invited to the Forum are the candidates who represent University Place in the local races for Pierce County Council District 4 and State Representatives for Legislative District 28.

Candidates for Pierce County Council District 4 are Connie Ladenburg and Ken J. Grassi. Legislative District 28 is represented by two State Representative positions: Eric Choiniere and Steve O'Ban are vying for State Rep. Position 1, while incumbent Tami Green and Paul Wagemann are seeking State Rep. Position 2. The forum is scheduled to last for approximately one and a half hours.

Citizens are encouraged to attend and provide their questions during the forum to the League of Women Voters, who will be moderating the evening’s event. Candidates will also present opening and closing statements as well as answer a few questions specific to University Place.

This forum will be taped for University Place Television (UPTV) so that citizens who are not able to attend have an opportunity to watch it later. Once the public forum is on-air, viewing times will be posted on the City’s website at www.CityofUP.com. UPTV is available for viewing within the City of University Place city limits on Click! Channel 12 and Comcast Channel 21.
