Candidate Forum Thursday At Curtis High

The Tacoma-Pierce County Chapter of the League of Women Voters will host and moderate a University Place Council Candidate Forum on Thursday

The event is scheduled from 6:30 p.m., to 8 p.m., at , 8425 40th Street W., from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

University Place residents will have an opportunity to vote for three City Council positions this year: and are vying for Position 2; and are pursuing Position 6; and incumbent and are seeking Position 7. The forum is scheduled to last for approximately one and a half hours. 

Citizens are encouraged to attend and provide their questions during the forum to the League of Women Voters, who will be moderating the evening’s event. Candidates will also present opening and closing statements as well as answer a few questions specific to University Place.

This forum will be taped for University Place Television (UPTV) so that citizens who are not able to attend have an opportunity to watch it later. Once the public forum is on-air, viewing times will be posted on the City’s website at www.CityofUP.com. UPTV is available for viewing within the City of University Place city limits on Click! Channel 12 and Comcast Channel 21. The program will also be accessible on-line at www.CityofUP.com.  

The date for the General Election is Nov. 8. New voters can register in person through Monday, Oct. 10 at the Pierce County Elections Center, 2501 S. 35th St., Suite C.
