Army Identifies JBLM Soldier Who Died Sunday In Afghanistan

Spc. Ricardo Cerros Jr., was from Salinas, Calif.

The Department of Defense reports that a Joint Base Lewis-McChord died Sunday during a battle in Afghanistan. According to the department:

Spc. Ricardo Cerros Jr., 24, of Salinas, Calif., died Oct. 8 in Logar Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.

According to The News Tribune, Cerros was serving on his first deployment to Afghanistan.
