West Pierce, University Place Police During Flag Retirement Ceremony at Bridgeport Place

The July 6 event begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m. Anyone with one or more tattered old flags is invited to bring them for a proper retirement disposal and retirement.

First responders from and will be honored at an Appreciation BBQ on Friday, July 6 at Bridgeport Place Retirement and Assisted Living.

The BBQ luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m. At 1 p.m., the American Legion Doughboy Memorial Post No. 138 of University Place will perform a formal Flag Retirement Ceremony on the patio and back lawn at the facility at 5250 Bridgeport Way West.

Anyone with one or more tattered old flags is invited to bring the flag(s) to the ceremony to have it/them reverently retired in the solemn ceremony.
