West Pierce Plans Sept. 11 Memorials In University Place, Lakewood

The celebrations will take place the exact time the North Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed a decade ago.

West Pierce Fire & Rescue will conduct simultaneous ceremonies in University Place and Lakewood to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Both ceremonies will take place 7:28 a.m., Sept. 11, which is the exact time the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York collapsed.

West Pierce is inviting the public to join and remember the people affected by the tragedy. The ceremonies will be held at:

Coffee and donuts - which were donated for the event - will be provided after the ceremony.
