West Pierce Firefirefighters Need Items To Help Needy Families in University Place, Lakewood
West Pierce Professional Firefighters Local 1488 is holding its annual Christmas Project. Residents can help them out by donating toys at one of three locations by Dec. 19.
West Pierce Professional Firefighters Local 1488 wants to help struggling University Place and Lakewood families this holiday, but it needs your help.
The union is holding its annual Christmas Project, which involves donating new, unwrapped toys, clothes and food.
The drive, the main one in University Place, lasts to Dec. 19. Residents can drop off items at any of the following locations:

- West Pierce Fire & Rescue, Station 31, 3631 Drexler Drive West
- Forza Coffee Company, 2700 Bridgport Way West
- Forza Coffee Company, 4828 Bridgeport Way West
Over the weekend, the local firefighters kicked off the Christmas Project by purchasing some toys at Target in Lakewood.
On Dec. 20-22, the firefighers will deliver the toys via (of course) fire engine.
