West Pierce Extinguishes Fire at Ale House Pub

The early morning fire began in the restaurant kitchen, fire investigators believe.

At approximately 3:45 a.m., West Pierce Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a fire at the Ale House Pub & Eatery, located at 2122 Mildred Street W in University Place.  Crews arrived to find a kitchen fire that spread to the roof.  The fire was quickly put out by the ladder truck from the rear of the building.

Someone walking by the restaurant called 9-1-1 when they saw smoke coming from the building early this morning.  Investigators have determined the fire started in the kitchen, but the cause is under investigation by the Pierce County Fire Marshal’s Office.  There were no injuries during this incident and damage was mostly contained to the kitchen and the roof.
