Robbery: At 1:30 p.m. officers contacted a subject outside Steph’s Pizza on South Orchard regarding a robbery. The victim said he was meeting someone outside the store who wanted to buy his iPhone 5. He had never met the person before. The subject looked at the phone and said he wanted to buy it, but needed to go to an ATM first. The suspect ran around the side of the building with the phone and jumped into a waiting car. The victim followed and grabbed the car door, but fell off—almost breaking the door when he fell. Vandalism, Shoplifting: At approximately 5:30 a.m., police responded to McDonald’s for a report of a broken window. A female suspect was detained at the bus stop across the street, holding a bouquet of artificial flowers. She initially denied breaking the window at McDonalds, but admitted to stealing the bouquet from Safeway. A witness told police that he did see her steal the flowers, but that an unknown man confronted her in the street and asked for a light. She got upset with him and chased him down the street and threw a rock at him, which broke the restaurant window. The woman admitted to police she is bi-polar and was off her medication. She was arrested for shoplifting and vandalism.
