University Place Police Nab Burglars Suspected of Other Crimes

Authorities arrested the suspects as they were ransacking a house near Cirque Park.

University Place Police have arrested two men whom they suspect are connected to at least six crimes, including burglary, stolen vehicles and breaking into cars.

According to Interim Police Chief Mike Blair, the two men were arrested Tuesday, "after they booted a front door of a house near Cirque Park and were caught as they were ransacking the house."

A search of one of the suspects' residence in the 5200 block of 64th Streeet West led authorities to clearing five other burglary cases. They uncovered tools from two vehicle prowls, switched plates and two stolen vehicles.

"One of the stolen vehicles was being actively 'chopped' in the garage," Blair said. "Two other individuals were identified living there. They had criminal histories to include burglary, assault and unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance."

Blair commended University Place Investigator Doug Shook for making a huge impact on public safety with the case.
