Traffic Snarls on State Route 16 At 19th Street on Friday (UPDATE)

The back-ups began shortly after noon, Friday.

UPDATE: 12:56 p.m.

Aside from the usual bottleneck leading toward the Nalley Valley, traffic appears to be flowing again.

The Washington State Patrol has yet to release information on what caused today's backup.

Traffic on eastbound State Route 16 at 19th Street has slowed to a crawl over the last half-hour with what appears to be a vehicle accident.

Lines are backing up to the 6th Avenue exit and beyond, according to Washington State Department of Transportation cameras,Β and there are several emergency vehicles at the scene.
