Teen Goes For Joyride, Runs Into Police

The 14-year-old from University Place allegedly took a car from her family's home.

A joyride got off to a bad start and progressively worsened for a 14-year-old girl from University Place.

According to University Place Police, the girl – whom authorities are not identifying because she’s a minor – allegedly took a rental car from her family’s home Monday.

Police Chief Rusty Wilder says the mother awoke to a loud noise and went to the garage.  She found the garage door dented and the 2000 Suzuki sedan missing.
