Sheriff's Department Seeks Public's Help In Finding Home-Invasion Suspects

University Place home robbed by man posing as delivery person; woman and her grandchild tied up.

Pierce County Sheriff’s detectives need the public's help to identify the suspects responsible for a home invasion in University Place. At 10:10 a.m. on Monday, a robbery occurred at a residence in the 1900 block of Westridge Avenue West.

An unidentified suspect knocked on the victim’s door posing as a delivery person. When the victim opened the door, the suspect punched the victim in the face, knocking her to the ground. The suspect then let a second unidentified suspect inside the residence.

The suspects stole multiple items from the house including credit cards, documents, prescription medications, and an xBox gaming system.  One of the suspects held an object to the victim’s neck, then the suspects tied up the victim and her 3-year-old grandson and fled the house with the stolen items.

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 27 to 28 years old, 5’8” tall, 180 lbs., and clean shaven.  During the robbery he was seen wearing a dark blue hat, a dark blue button up shirt, dark blue pants, and black boots.  The victim was unable to describe the second suspect.
