Police Blotter, March 25

Authorities arrested a subject on suspicion of 14 counts of illegal possession of a firearm.

Things were relatively calm over the past two weeks, although University Place Police did arrest a felon on suspicion of 14, count β€˜em, 14, charges of unlawful possession of a firearm. Officials also made a handful of arrests on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Here are some highlights:

March 16

-Police were called to a report of an assault shortly before 7 p.m., at 8717 36th Street West. They made contact with a person whom officers discovered has a felony history, and officers obtained a court-ordered warrant to search his home. They allegedly found numerous shotguns and handguns.

They arrested Troy Aaron Margeson, who was booked into jail on suspicion of 14 counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree assault. He is Pierce County Jail on $100,000 bail.

Chief Rusty Wilder credited his patrol officers for taking the initiative to make the arrest.Β

March 20

-Authorities arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of robbery around 3 p.m. in the 3800 block of 78th Avenue Court West.
