Man Who Flipped His Car On Interstate 705 in Tacoma Identified

Authorities have identified a man who flipped his car onto Interstate 705 near Downtown Tacoma on Wednesday.

Scott Jablon of Federal Way, 58, was driving on 2007 Ford Taurus shortly after noon on northbound Highway 509, across the Thea Foss Waterway Cable Bridge.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the driver drifted off the road, struck the traffic island, vaulted over onto Interstate 705 and came to a rest in the northbound, left-hand lane.

Jablon was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin has been notified. It's unknown whether alcohol was involved, and the crash is still under investigation.
