Lakewood Police Offering Free Adventure in Boating Class Saturday and June 9

This boating safety class satisfies the Washington State mandatory boater education law requirements that took effect January 1, 2008.

The Marine Service Unit is hosting FREE Adventure in Boating classes on Saturday and June 9.

The classes will be held in the Lakewood Police Station training room from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This boating safety class satisfies the Washington State mandatory boater education law requirements that took effect January 1, 2008. State law currently requires boat operators 40 and younger to carry a Washington State Boater Education card when operating motorboats with 15 horsepower or greater (including personal watercraft).

The classes are open to everyone.

REGISTRATION for the class is being done thru the City of Lakewood website.

  • Select the Parks and Recreation Department from the services tab.
  • You’ll then see Related Documents down on the left hand side of the page.
  • Select Register Online which will bring you to the registration webpage.
  • Just select Register for Activities and you’ll see all the available classes.
