Early Morning Crash in Point Defiance Park Leaves One Injured

A Pierce County airplane is searching for a possible second passenger who was seen by witnesses.

A car crash on Five Mile Drive in Point Defiance Park has left one man in the hospital, and rescue personnel searching for a second passenger.

The New Tribune is reporting someone called 911 just before 7 a.m. to report a man outside a crashed Honda Civic near the old Camp 6.

When Tacoma police and firefighters arrived and found the man, he denied being in the incident, according to the Tribune. He was later taken to a local hospital.

Witnesses in the area told police they saw someone hanging out a passenger window, but that person has not been located. Officials are checking with local hospitals and using an airplane to conduct a search.
