E-MAIL TO THE EDITOR: Local Rotary Donates Almost 100 Jars of Peanut Butter to Families Unlimited Network

The recent jump in peanut butter prices means peanut butter is becoming more scarce on food bank shelves.

(This comes from the Tacoma Narrows Rotary)

The local Rotary club, Tacoma Narrows Rotary, has a long history of rising to the challenges and meeting needs in our communities.

University Place-located Families Unlimited Network's food bank is now open three days per week to help meet the demands. According to FUN Board President and Rotarian, Mitch Sagers, "Families Unlimited has seen growing numbers of food bank clients and peanut butter is a high-demand staple."

"With the recent jump in peanut butter prices it could become more scarce on the food bank shelves. When I raised the idea in our club, the membership responded generously and gathered 80 jars."

The final number given to FUN increased to 98 from a generous donation from the folks and clients at Umpqua Bank.
