"Device" Found At Key Bank

Authorities confirm that there was a threat on Tuesday at the branch at 40th Avenue and Bridgeport Way West. It prompted a sweeping police response.

Authorities are investigating a device that was related to a bomb threat at a University Place bank Tuesday.

University Place Police Chief Rusty Wilder confirmed the incident at the to Patch, although he declined to give details because the investigation is ongoing.

"We did have a device," he said.

Patch began to receive word that there was a large police response to the bank on its Facebook page around 4 p.m., Tuesday, with both and at the scene.
