Authorities Arrest Man Suspected of University Place Home-Invasion Robbery in March

Kenneth Dwayne Bolden was arrested by Tacoma Police and is being held in Pierce County Jail on suspicion of multiple crimes, including a March 4 incident in which he allegedly robbed an elderly woman in University Place.

A man suspected of as he stole items from her University Place home in March is now in jail.

Tacoma Police arrested Kenneth Dwayne Bolden and booked him in Pierce County Jail on suspicion of multiple counts of robbery, burglary and assault, many of which involved elderly victims, according to University Place Interim Police Chief Mike Blair.

The case in University Place was charged after Tacoma Police and the Pierce County Sheriff's Department had investigated the other cases involving elderly residents.

On March 4, the suspect allegedly forced his way into the 84-year-old woman's home in the 2700 block of Mountain View Avenue West as she unloaded groceries. He pushed the woman down, before helping her back to her feet and locking her in the bathroom.

The suspect then stole jewelry, cash and prescription medication.

Bolden has multiple prior convictions and is a "Third Strike" candidate who faces life in prison, Blair said. He is being held without bail.
