9/11 MEMORIAL RIDE: Heading Home

The West Pierce are beginning to make their way back to the South Sound from New York ... gradually. Still, along the way, they're taking in some great sights.

(Editor's note: , four firefighters from West Pierce Fire & Rescue are riding their motorcycles cross-country to New York for the 10-year anniversary of 9/11. They are providing daily dispatches to Patch)

We only made 330 miles in nine hours today.

We are staying in Wayneville, NC. We were supposed to be in Tennessee. We've seen many deer, wild turkeys, squirrels and even a rattlesnake on the road!

Weather has been nice. We got a text from Aaron who is in Livingstone MT, about 120 miles out of Billings. He said everything is going well, except that it was 31 degrees when they left Bismark, ND this morning. Hope to actually find Tennessee in the morning, wish us luck.
