9/11 MEMORIAL RIDE: Finally In Newburgh, NY

After encountering inclement weather, the firefighters from West Pierce Fire & Rescue finally reach New York. They will be attending the ceremonies today for the 10-year anniversary of Sept. 11.

(Editor's note: , four firefighters from West Pierce Fire & Rescue are riding their motorcycles cross-country to New York for the 10-year anniversary of 9/11. They are providing daily dispatches to Patch)

Sorry I missed a couple of days but we had some hectic riding and crazy down pours as we arrived in Gettysburg.

Needless to say, I was cold, wet, hungry and tired. When we arrived in Newburgh, after a flood caused detour, we had to register, unload, eat and attent a get together of all the IAFF-MG members from around the country and Canada.

I had put 3,295 miles on my bike since I left my home in University Place. Tomorrow is a NY State Police-escorted ride into the city for the ceremony at the FDNY Fallen Firefighter Memorial.

Will update when I can, later.
