E-MAIL TO THE EDITOR: Republican Canvassers Offered To Deliver Ballot, University Place Resident Says

It follows a recent spate of complaints of door-to-door canvassers offering to deliver ballots.

Late yesterday afternoon (11/2/12) three people rang our doorbell in UP and offered to take care of "delivering" our ballots to the correct voting location. They had no visible ID, no literature and did not state what organizatiion they represented. They just wanted the ballots. I said we had mailed them a week ago. When pressed they said they were sent by the Pierce County Republican Party to "assist" voters.

This is happening all over the county, according to KING 5 News last night and an article on the KING 5 website.

Willard must be getting desperate.

That happened to a friend of mine in the last Preidential election when some Dems came to their door...At least the Republicans want to send in a ballot for someone who's alive, lol....seems all is fair in love and voting, eh?

Protect your voting rights and your "secret ballot" by not handing it to anyone (unless it is a family member to drop it off for you. Ballot boxes are all over the county for your use or you can put a stamp on it and mail it. Voting is our right and participation in our country's democratic process. Remember to vote.
