E-MAIL TO THE EDITOR: Another Fox Sighting Prompts Reminder About Pets

Patch user Chris writes that she spotted one as she was leaving her home in University Place.

Here's an FYI....While leaving the house this morning around 9:15AM, my mother and I observed a coyote on the street at 47th and 70th Ave Ct W. This isn't the first time I have seen one this close to where we live.

If you live near there and have any small pets that are frequently outside you may wish to either keep a closer eye on them or bring them inside all together.

Thanks for the FYI...that is our neighborhood and we do have a tiny dog next door plus some neighboring cats...Apparently, the coyotes are coming closer because people feed them, which only increases their likelihood of aggression....DO NOT FEED THESE WILD ANIMALS.

We've seen them in our neighborhood (south of Curtis) and along Elwood. I think they come over from the golf course where they live. Also saw them along Chambers creek. There are a lot of outdoor cats who seem to have survived the food chain.

No one was suggesting we shouldn't get along with them....only to be on guard and take precautions with pets.

Agreed Pammy...not feeding them is great advice!

Also spotted a coyote walking along Morrison Rd W near the Adrianna Hess Audubon Society park.

Not too surprised they'd be at the Adrianna Hess Wetland Park....lots of birds and other wildlife there. Mom saw one in our backyard about a week ago....she called for me to get up and snap a shot, but of course the coyote was gone by the time I got the camera ready, lol.
