Chris Saunders Inspires Others by Her Commitment to Community

Volunteering and civic engagement are the conerstone of a strong city. Outstanding community volunteer, Chris Saunders, inspires teens and adults to get more involved in their community.

She's construction captain for Playground by the Sound, directing staff at Sunset Bible Church Christmas program, and a member of the traffic impact fee adhoc committee. She's revising the TIF to be more economically feasible for business, she's on the U.P. Festival steering committee, a planning commissioner and liaison to the economic development commission.

"Her commitment to University Place and dedication to volunteerism is simply inspirational," said Amber McLean, co-founder of Peace Out.

Emma Schumacher, Peace Out teen says, "I love her and I love that she does so much for the community! She works hard and inspires me to do even more for the community!"

Michelle, you are hilarious! Just to clarify though, I am a past Planning Commissioner and liason to the EDC. As well as, the TIF adhoc committee. Very glad to see this community grow through the efforts and many. I try to be part of the solution as we face the future together and hope I inspire other to do the same. It is so great to now be part of Peace Out and the Volunteer Center. I am also sure there is more to come.
