Still Juiced for the Summer!!!!

Our blogger is now on Week 2 of his weight-loss plan. He found that Week 1 was, actually, fairly easy. Except for the weekends. Bottom line: Our blogger is 12 pounds lighter after Week 1.

I am sure that you where holding your breath for the follow up from last week

Lost 12 lbs.

8 days down and 22 to go.

I have to toot my own horn.  I am surprised that I didn’t cheat one time.  I also learned a couple things about my eating habits that I am sure only effect me.

I I I I I.

I need to stop saying I.

The fact of the matter is it was easy during the week.  The weekends are totally different. That is when you go out to eat and enjoy the weather and get some ice cream. The funny thing too was my son (who is 2) kept trying to share his food with me. “Daddy you need some of my Quesadilla?”

Really?!!!!!

Normally he is taking the food off my plate and telling me to share.  It’s like he knew something was up.  (kids are sharper then we give them credit but that’s another day)

I have limited my coffee to one cup a day and I still have plenty of energy. I have been eating almonds or peanuts through the day for protein and am still eating fruit at night so I feel like I am eating some sort of snack instead of killing a bag of potato chips and a beer.  Its just those doggone weekends are tough cause I am not distracted with work for most of the day.

In the juice for the last week it has been:

Veggies

  •  Spinach, celery, cucumber, lettuce, peppers, kale (when I find it)  and carrots

Fruits

  •  Grapefruit (helps kill the veggie taste a lot) Apples, peaches and grapes.

I think that the mix is about 60/40 veggies to fruilt

The goal for Week 2

  • Keep up the juice
  • Incorporate going to the GYM or running 3 days this week or some sort of sporting activity that makes you sweat.  (NO Golf) (Hope my wife doesn't read the no golf part)

1/3 down 2/3 to go

Jonah

Day 8

254 lbs

West Side Branch logo

I wonder how much this `re-branding' cost?? Perhaps the City of UP could get a deal on what theyRead More want to spend on `re-branding'! It still sounds like Tacoma is the preferred branch of Pierce County - that is, why is not `Pierce County Chamber of Commerce' - and what is the implied difference between `west side' and `south county' ? And, of course, that begs the question - is there an` east side' and a `north county' that is being ignored?? I don't know why I am so confused..maybe because their new logo has a haunting resemblance to that of a former company that went bankrupt... And, lastly, let us hope that `business in motion' is moving into our county, and not out of it..

Just read that story. Great article, and a well deserved award. I haven't really followed the teamRead More this year. Do they have a shot this week in state? It's at MT Tahoma, so I may just have to head over there.

No sweat Dan. Here's the link. By the way, this story also took first in the Washington PressRead More Association contest, so people apparently related to the team's story. Go Curtis!

I went to Mt. St. Helens and did a hike last weekend. It's so amazing to see a broken mountain inRead More repair... I hadn't been since I was a kid, but it was quite an experience!

When was it announced that he'll be running?
Brent Champaco (Editor) May 17, 2013 at 09:19 am
Hey Patty, thanks for this note. I'm trying to get in touch with the city and the developer. WasRead More this discussed at a meeting or something?

Are the Mayor and Mayor pro tem getting a `pass'??
Lauren Padgett (Editor) May 16, 2013 at 01:22 pm
He should post a "get to know me" post on Patch! I'd like to hear more about what he'sRead More interested in working on, if he's elected.
