Chair Yoga is a wonderful way for people with physical limitations to experience the relaxation and increased flexibility that yoga brings. Many health benefits are seen with regular parctice of yoga, and now everyone can participate, even if they cannot get down onto the floor. Each class includes gentle, slow motion movements and stretches for nearly every muscle and joint in your body (from head to toe). The muscle movements will help restore or maintain your flexibility and range of motion. Most of the movements will be done seated in a chair. We may also do a few poses standing by your chair. Each person is encouraged to proceed at his/her own pace. To qualify for this service, you must be 61 years of age or older and complete an intake packet prior to your first class.
