  • Where/When: 8-11 p.m. Fri, Oct 14 at Massimo's Italian Bar and Grill.
  • Why Go: Start your weekend off with some smooth jazz at Massimo's this Friday night. The Cold 102's will be pumping out all the jazz, blues and folk tunes you can handle. Check out this Youtube clip of the band in action so you'll know what you're in for. There's also a happy hour from 9 p.m. to close on Friday nights.
  • Cost: No cover.

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the .
  • Why Go: It's the time for another used book sale at the Lakewood Library. Come shop from the many books, CDs, magazines and more available this Saturday at the Library. Just remember to bring a bag to carry your haul back to your car. You may need it!
  • Cost: Funds from the book sales will help the FRIENDS of the Lakewood Library sponsor future events as well as furnishings and other needs at the Lakewood Library.

 

  • Where/When: 7 p.m. Sat, Oct 15 at .
  • Why Go: Stop by the Lakebridge Forza this Saturday night for some free live music by Erik Thomas. Just sit back and relax with a cup of coffee and let Erik set the mood with his acoustic musical style.
  • Cost: Free.

 

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at in Gig Harbor.
  • Why Go: Whether you are a film maker, or just a film enthusiast, this is one film festival you don't want to miss. The three day event will feature all the independent, foreign, documentary, full feature, animated, and short films you can handle. Check out the event's film guide to help figure out which films you want to see.
  • Cost: Single tickets range from $7 - $9. Three-day passes are available for $42.

 

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at the Point Defiance Zoo.
  • Why Go: Moms and dads looking for a safe and entertaining place to bring young trick-or-treaters won't want to miss the annual Zoo Boo celebration. The event will feature indoor and outdoor activities, including treats, photo opportunities, a scavenger hunt and much more.
  • Cost: Free with zoo admission. Anyone in costume will receive a $2 discount off the general zoo admission rate.
