  • Where/When: 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Fri, May 27 at the  in Lakewood. 
  • Why Go: Come out to Lakeridge Forza this Friday evening and relax while you enjoy the simple, yet beautiful folk music of singer-songwriter Gina Belliveau. Curious about what you'll see? Check out this Youtube clip of Gina performing at Tacoma's Amocat Cafe grand opening earlier this year. Like what you heard? Sample a few more of Gina's songs from her Myspace page.
  • Pricing: No cover.


  • Where/When: 10 a.m. Sat, May 28 at  in Gig Harbor.
  • Why Go: Come participate in the largest Street Scramble in North America and the only free Street Scramble in the greater Puget Sound region this Saturday in Gig Harbor. The Gig Harbor Street Scramble is basically a “treasure hunt” through-out the community. You'll get a map with 30 locations to visit in 90 minutes on foot or bike, individually or as a team. If 90 minutes seems a little speedy for you, sign up for the three hour Scramble and take your time. During the event, be sure to check out the healthy lifestyle information booths along the way.
  • Pricing: The event is free, but pre-registration is encouraged for the Street Scramble. The first 200 to pre-register receive a t-shirt. Registration will also be available at the event, but no t-shirt is guaranteed.

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. Sat, May  28 at Point Defiance Park.
  • Why Go: The Point Defiance Outdoor Challenge may not be the biggest scavenger hunt in the Northwest, but it sure sounds like it'll be a lot of fun. Think of it as one part scavenger hunt and two parts adventure race. There will be two divisions, an adult 2 person division and a family 4 person division. The unique challenges will test your fitness as well as your critical thinking skills. You're even required to bring a digital camera to complete one of the tasks! 
  • Pricing: $40 per team.

  • Where/When: 12:30 p.m. - 11 p.m. Sat, May 28 at the Freighthouse Square in Tacoma.
  • Why Go: For any Jazz or Blues fans out there, this event is huge. The festival will have three separate stages with a plethora of northwest jazz and blues musicians performing all day long. Tacoma's own Jerry Miller and Rich Wetzel’s Groovin Higher Jazz Orchestra will highlight what's sure to be an amazing day for Jazz and Blues in the Northwest.
  • Pricing: The event is free, but donations will be gladly accepted. To learn more about how to donate visit the festival's website.


  • Where/When: 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. on Sunday at .
  • Why Go: This is the last weekend to catch the Pierce College Theatre Program's production of Stick Soup, A Steilacoom Indian Story. Pierce College always puts on a great show and we've heard nothing but great things about this entertaining play. You may even learn a thing or two about the Stelacoom Indian Tribe which can't be a bad thing. 
  • Pricing: Tickets are $2 for students and $3 for everyone else. Call (253) 964-6710 to make reservations.
