City of University Place Recognizes Patch With Proclamation

The University Place City Council honored Patch for winning first place in the 2011 SPJ Region 10 Contest last month.

The University Place City Council honored Patch with an official proclamation Monday night.

The recognition was for our for features on UP athletes Tierra Crockrell, DaVonte Lacy and Cornelius Edison.

Mayor Ken Grassi read the proclamation in front of about 30 people at University Place City Hall.

(I've included a copy of the official proclamation - complete with seal and all - in the media gallery)

Thank you to the City of University Place. It was kind of weird being up in front of everyone, seeing that I'm usually in the audience. Still, it's a big honor.

As I said during the presentation, I take a lot of pride in covering University Place. That's true whether Patch wins awards or not.
