The 373rd Military Intelligence Battalion (Task Force Gryphon) deployed to Iraq as part of the 219th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade (BfSB) and established operations at twenty three geographically-dispersed locations throughout the United States Division- North, South, and Central regions. The footprint of the 373rd Military Intelligence Battalion was the largest of any Military Intelligence battalion in theater with over forty teams located from the Northern Syrian border to as far South as Basrah, to Al Assad in the West and on the Iranian border in the East.

The Soldiers of the 373rd Military Intelligence Battalion, Task Force Gryphon, are part of a legacy that will endure in history.  Being the last Military Intelligence Battalion out of Iraq, they lived up to their motto,' Last Out, With Honor'. Task Force Gryphon ensured the effective support of Multi-disciplined Intelligence teams and capacity throughout Iraq in support of OPERATION NEW DAWN.  The 373rdMilitary Intelligence Battalion consists of over 280 Soldiers.  Remarkably, more than 120 of these United States Army Reserve Soldiers were cross-leveled to the battalion from over 30 different states.
