University Place Library Offering Job Workshop

The University Place Library's job center is already one of the busiest in Pierce County.

People can learn specialized job-finding skills during free workshops at the .

Participants can pick up tips and techniques to maximize their chances of success in landing a temporary or seasonal job in time for the holidays in the class, All I Want for Christmas is a Job.

This is part of the library's overall push to provide resources for users who are seeking a job. It already offers a job center that provides computers for people to spruce up their resume.

In University Place, the workshop is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Nov. 28.

Workshop instructor Susanne Boone has been a job developer for WorkForce Central and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, and a career counselor for Clover Park Technical College. Generous funding from the following organizations is helping support the classes:

Catch the Muppets

Users will be able see their favorite Muppet movies when the University Place library hosts Muppets events twice this month.

They are scheduled at 1:30 p.m., next Wednesday and Nov. 23.

 

Book Sale

The University PlaceLibrary used book sale is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10.
