WATCH: U.S. Open at Chambers Bay Will Have $144 Million Impact on Pierce County

Those who want to volunteer at the biggest event in UP's history should mark their calendars for January 2014.

With less than 800 days until the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay Properties, many are already lining up to help facilitate the biggest week in UP's history.

Experts say the 2015 U.S. Open will have a $144 million impact on the region, with corporate hospitality bringing in one-third of that revenue. Pierce County expects an attendance of about 235,000 people, including thousands of volunteers, vendors, staff and media, as well as ticketed customers.

Many have reached out to lend a hand to organizers. In this video from Pierce County, USGA Championship Director Danny Sink tells locals they haven't missed anything yet--and to mark their calendars for January 2014.

"I probably get about 5 emails a day from people who want to volunteer, who don't want to be left off," said Sink. "You haven't missed anything. We will reach out to everyone, but we're still early."
