University Place-Based Westside Community Bank Closed By FDIC

The lending back - which also has a branch in Puyallup - is the first bank in the state to fail in 2013.

University Place-based Westside Community Bank was closed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation on Friday, becoming the first in Washington to close this year.

The bank has been transferred to Sunwest Bank, based in Irvine, CA.

On Friday, January 11, 2013, Westside Community Bank, University Place, WA was closed by the Washington Department of Financial Institutions. Subsequently, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named Receiver. No advance notice is given to the public when a financial institution is closed. 

All deposit accounts have been transferred to Sunwest Bank, Irvine, CA. For more information on Sunwest Bank, visit us at www.sunwestbank.com

The FDIC has assembled useful information regarding your relationship with Westside Community Bank. Besides a checking account, you may have Certificates of Deposit, a business checking account, a Social Security direct deposit, and other relationships with the institution.
