The center of the automotive world will shift from Detroit to Tacoma in June.
LeMay - America's Car Museum, the large structure immediately south of the Tacoma Dome, is scheduled to hold its grand opening June 2. Many of us have spotted the museum from the highway and have wondered, "What's that going in there?"
That's like announcing Graceland's opening to Elvis fans, only the fans are instead classic car buffs and gear heads. LeMay's opening has been highlighted by news organizations across the country.
In January, USA Today included LeMay on its list eight big openings across the country.
In addition to the 500 or so cars that will be on display, including many from the record-breaking LeMay collection, the museum will feature a collector car center and a 3.5-acre show field.
