Hostess Lays Off 53 Employees in Lakewood

The company sent out letters Friday to all 18,000 of its workers nationwide that they could be laid off in the next two months, as it is in Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Hostess Brands notified 53 employees in Lakewood today that they will be laid off.

The maker of Twinkies, Wonder Bread and other famous national baked goods sent out letters Friday to all 18,000 of its employees nationwide that they could face layoffs.

In Washington, it warned some 250 employees that layoffs could be coming.

The company is currently in Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The Lakewood employees' layoffs take effect July 3.
