Harbor Greens Opens To Eager Crowds In University Place

For the first time on Friday, customers enjoyed the store's colorful array of items and food, an experience that included plenty of sampling.

Harbor Greens offers a fresh and colorful array of goods, eager customers in University Place found out Friday.

Sticking to its schedule of opening the first day in March, the store officially opened its doors today. Located in a former teriyaki restaurant at the corner of 27th Street and Bridgeport Way West, the store is spacious yet intimate.

And it offers plenty for your shopping palette, everything from fresh vegetables and unique dry goods to fresh flowers and an expansive nursery to the south of the building.

Oh, and I got to enjoy some samples that served as lunch, including salmon spread on a roll, salami on a bun and a BLT sandwhich. (Yes, I'm still full)

Now the people in UP, Lakewood and Tacoma know what the folks in Gig Harbor have known for awhile: Harbor Greens is a great spot.

University Places needs small businesses like this, and people need to support them. Good luck to Harbor Greens of UP.

It's super great see a place like Harbor Greens in U.P. This kind business is what we need next should be more retail shopping and big chain restaurants. The city needs it. No more banks or condos :)

I am so thrilled to have Harbor Greens open in University Place. We certainly are in need of new businesses in our city.

Over Crowded, Small Floor Space, Seemed to be promoting wine, and the ceramic flower pots are the same as Tacoma Boys and H & L Produce $100 buy one get one free. Indoor hotdog stand? Really is that the best food for UP? Metropolitan Market N. End is the same kind of shop as Harbor Greens. Not near any body of water why would they call it Harbor Greens? Customer Service left a lot to be desired....Hopefully these are not the owners relatives, and that the staff will one day be trained in Customer Service!

Great store hands down. I am glad that they expanded and are doing the things that made them great in Gig Harbor. Always going to have someone that's unhappy, too bad. Keep up the great work Harbor Greens!

Great produce & meat sections. The deli sandwiches are great. Wish they would bring back the Stacker. All staff are eager to assist. Welcome to U.P.
