Harbor Greens Opens To Eager Crowds In University Place

For the first time on Friday, customers enjoyed the store's colorful array of items and food, an experience that included plenty of sampling.

Harbor Greens offers a fresh and colorful array of goods, eager customers in University Place found out Friday.

Sticking to its schedule of opening the first day in March, the store officially opened its doors today. Located in a former teriyaki restaurant at the corner of 27th Street and Bridgeport Way West, the store is spacious yet intimate.

And it offers plenty for your shopping palette, everything from fresh vegetables and unique dry goods to fresh flowers and an expansive nursery to the south of the building.

Oh, and I got to enjoy some samples that served as lunch, including salmon spread on a roll, salami on a bun and a BLT sandwhich. (Yes, I'm still full)

Now the people in UP, Lakewood and Tacoma know what the folks in Gig Harbor have known for awhile: Harbor Greens is a great spot.
