Frog n Kiwi Cafe Open For Business

The Town Center project's first new business opened quietly on Tuesday.

University Place's Town Center project saw its first business open around 8 a.m., Tuesday.

Frog n Kiwi Cafe reported on its Facebook page that, "Yes, we are finally open for business. Come on down and get your early morning cuppa joe :-)"

Located in the University Place Civic Building, adjacent to the , Frog n Kiwi marks the first official private business to open in the new Town Center project.

It might not be the anchor tenant or large retailer that UP officials say is necessary for the project to be successful, nor does it yet have the that's expected to attract families, but it does mark somewhat of a milestone in Town Center's development.

And of course, Frog n Kiwi adds an array of treats and drinks to the community's collective menu.

"Just popped in and had lunch, enjoyed the most delicious croissant!" wrote Facebook user Leah Hawtin. "Girls so friendly! Lovely :)"

"Glad u r all enjoying the new cafe!," , who owns the business with husband Marc. "So pleased to have u as part of our family now too :-)"
