Ale House Expected To Reopen After Fire

The Ale House Pub & Eatery on Mildred Street is expected to reopen this fall, after a fire damaged the restaurant on July 12.

Fans of the Ale House Pub, rejoice! The local watering hole is expected to reopen after a July 12 fire damaged the restaurant.

In an update to the University Place council on July 15, assistant city manager Mariza Craig said the city has reached out to business owners to speed up the process. The Ale House is expected to reopen in about a month and a half, she said.

Crews from West Pierce Fire and Rescue arrived to the early-morning restaurant fire July 12 and found the roof ablaze. The fire was quickly put out by a ladder truck from the rear end of the building. (Read more on Patch).

According to the UP Police report, the building sustained about $8,000 in damages. The fire is believed to have been caused by the HVAC (heating and cooling system) overheating.

There has been a lot of activity at the site since the Ale House fire, with crews out daily making repairs. We will keep you updated as we learn more!
