Bates Technical College has scheduled public forums for three finalists for the position of KBTC Public Television’s executive director and general manager/executive dean. The forums will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, beginning at 9 a.m. in Studio A at the college’s Central/Mohler Campus, 2320 S. 19th Street, in Tacoma. KBTC Public Television, a PBS affiliate, is operated as a service of Bates Technical College.
The forum schedule is as follows:
Karen Olstad, 9-9:45 a.m.

Olstad currently serves as the chief operating officer of WOSU Public Media in Columbus, Ohio. She was the vice president of operations and chief financial officer at Alaska Public Radio, and held the position of associate general manager and chief financial officer of educational and public media at Washington State University. Olstad holds a bachelor of arts from Washington State University.
Maurice “Moss” Bresnahan, 9:55-10:40 a.m.

Bresnahan served most recently as president and chief executive officer of KCTS-TV in Seattle. Previously, he worked as president and CEO at South Carolina ETV and Radio Network; president and general manager of WVPT-TV in Shenandoah Valley, Va.; general manager of WQPT-TV in Davenport, Iowa; and has held a host of other positions in the communications field, including teaching courses at a variety of colleges and universities. Bresnahan holds a master of science and a bachelor of science from Boston University.
Ed Ulman, 10:45-11:30 a.m.
Ulman is currently the director of development of KBTC Public Television, and also serves as the interim executive director/general manager of the station. Previously, he was the education and outreach manager of KNME-TV at the University of New Mexico, the executive director of the New Mexico Jazz Workshop, and the executive director and education coordinator of the Tucson Jazz Society. Ulman holds a master of science from Portland State University, and a bachelor of arts from the University of Idaho.
In addition to participating in a public forum, each finalist will meet with Bates Technical College President Dr. Ron Langrell, and tour the Central/Mohler Campus.
