Violinist, Modern Artist to Perform in UP's Spring Art and Concert Series

Enjoy the sights and sounds of outstanding local artists during the UP for Arts Spring Art and Concert Series, kicking off this Friday, April 26.

The event features violinist Grace Youn and modern artist Marquita Hunt.

Grace Youn

Grace has performed as a soloist with the University of Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and String Orchestra, and the Tacoma Youth Symphony. She is currently concertmaster of the University of Puget Sound Symphony and also a member of the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra. Grace's videos have over a million hits on Youtube and one of her videos was featured in Katy Perry’s documentary, “Part of Me.”

Marquita Hunt

Marquita is a local artist. She creates non-objective or abstract pieces and her work is currently being shown at the Proctor Art Gallery and the Lakewood Art Gallery.

The performances start at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 26 in the Civic Building Atrium, located at 3609 Market Place W. in UP.

Admission is $10 (cash or check only please) or free for with an UP for Arts membership card. Also, admission is now $5 for students when they present a valid student ID card. Free parking is available behind the building, underneath the library on Drexler Drive. More information about each artist is available on their website: www.upforart.org.
