UP For Art Concert Series Begins Next FRIDAY

The University Place group organize the free concerts, which take place in the atrium of the Civic Building at Town Center, next to the University Place library.

Classical music, driftwood art and an evening with Edgar Allan Poe are among the events featured in the first annual Fall Art & Concert Series in University Place.

Sponsored by UP For Art, the free cultural arts series offers a multitude of opportunities to meet and enjoy performances by a variety of local artists within the atrium of the new Civic Building, located at 3609 Market Square. All events are on Friday nights from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 30

UP String Quartet featuring UP resident and music teacher Rebecca Gehring; Puyallup School District Orchestra Director Paula Westgaard; University Place School District Orchestra Director Joel Westgaard; and Margaret Thorndill (Tacoma Symphony, Seattle String Quartet, and South Sound Trio).

Accomplished Driftwood Artist Barry Crust will also be on hand to display driftwood that he has transformed into stunning works of art.

Actor Tim Hoban performing Edgar Allan Poe and Fabric artists Helen Hein and Anne Doumit Sparks;

 

Nov. 18

Guitarist Andrew Sherbooke and Gourd Artists Stacy Annon and Sally Favors.
