Why here: The Curran Apple Orchard is one of the gems of University Place--rolling hills, lush trees and a peaceful vibe. It's the perfect venue for an outdoor concert on a summer day. This year's options feature a high-school , R&B, patriotic  music and even a little Elvis! Even better, the concerts are free!

Summer Concerts in Pioneer Park (Steilacoom)

Why here: Gorgeous Pioneer Park in neighboring Steilacoom is host to free outdoor concerts this summer. Offerings include patriotic fare, blues, steel drums, Sinatra and even a Beatles tribute. Summer Concert Series at American Lake (Lakewood)

Why here: With American Lake Park as the backdrop, the city of Lakewood is pleased to offer its free Tuesday-evening concert series. Listen to the music stylings of jazz all the way to instrumental pop (and much more). Check out the link above to see more information from another sister city.

Summer Sounds at Skansie (Gig Harbor)

Why here: Take a quick drive over the bridge and enjoy the free summer concert series at lovely Skansie Park in Gig Harbor. This robust music event features a wide variety of music: Latin fusion, jazz, big band, classic country and more. See link for calendar and other details.

Second Sunday Concert Series W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory (Tacoma)

Why here: This unique concert experience takes place in the gorgeous conservatory in the heart of urban Wright Park. You are welcome to enjoy the free music while touring the Tacoma conservatory or just sit and enjoy it. On warm days, concerts are moved outdoors under the glorious old-growth trees in the park near the venue. (Note: This event isn't restricted to summer -- it's year-round!)
