Meet Local Author Of "Suddenly Single" At Book Signing

Ruthann Reim McCaffree will sign copies of her long awaited book, "Suddenly Single" on June 4, at McBride's Hallmark in University Place.

Ruthann Reim McCaffree built a career around helping others as a professional counselor, but after one horrific day eight years ago she became the one who needed help.

Her husband of nearly 40 years, Terry Reim, fell from a ladder and died, leaving her alone. That shocking fact led to the title of McCaffree's newly released book, "Suddenly Single," which chronicles her personal journey from dispair to renewed happiness.

It's a journey others will relate to.

While honoring Reim, the book also exposes honest, raw and personal emotions. Most importantly it presents a life-affirming philosophy we can all benefit from. "Suddenly Single" would make an especially thoughtful and caring gift for someone you might know who has experienced the unexpected death of their spouse and needs the understanding, practical guidance, and hope this book offers.

"I wrote the book to reassure readers going through devastating loss, like I did, that the pain doesn't last forever," McCaffree said. "Life will be good again.  They will come out of their experience stronger and wiser."

McCaffree credits her supportive friends, along with others who seemed to emerge with helping make the book possible. It seems as if everything that needed to happen did, so that this personal milestone could be reached and others could benefit from what she learned. Consequently, many who know her and witnessed the process share the sense of fulfillment the release of this book brings.

"The most amazing part of the experience has been the community of people, all
along the way, who believed in this story enough to make sure it would really be
published," she said.

In addition to the books available for sale at the book signing, watch for them to appear in other local retail outlets.

But you can buy them directly from the book's own website at any time.

As easy and convenient as that is, anyone who comes to the book signing and meets McCaffree in person will be glad they did. Once you sense the genuine warmth, compassion, and optimism this author radiates, her written words will mean even more to you. She wants to share what she learned.

"Holding the finished book for the first time was absolutely incredible," McCaffree said. "I'm so looking forward to getting its gift of hope to as many people as possible."
