VIEWFINDER: First Day Of Summer At Chambers Creek Properties

Temperatures reached the mid-70's today, which meant countless residents with fun-and-sun in mind converged on Chambers Creek Properties.

Michele Harris was in search of a place where she and her three dogs could enjoy Tuesday.

The Tacoma resident had heard about Chambers Creek Properties and figured today was a good day to try it out.

For Harris, her dogs and countless other visitors who made their way to University Place parks Tuesday, the sun didn't disappoint.

Temperatures reached the mid-70's Tuesday, prompting countless sun-hungry residents to flock to Chambers Creek Properties, particularly .

They sunbathed. They played catch and frisbee.

And with the pedestrian overpass connecting Central Meadow to the Puget Sound shoreline, they even staged impromptu beach parties.

Sure, this beach had a lot more rocks, shells and tall grass than a typical California or Hawaii shoreline, but it was a beach nonetheless.

For Harris, watching her dogs - Marley, 11, Minnie, 7, and Lucy, 1 - play on the beach wood and run in the sand made the day extra special.

"Look at how beautiful this is," she said, pointing out to the blue waters of Puget Sound. "You can't beat this."

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to reach the high-60's on Wednesday. (Click here for the NWS forecast)
