Trail Segment Opens At Chambers Creek Properties

The East Slope Trail segment connects to the Grandview and Soundview trails just north of the Environmental Services Building.

This week, trail-lovers will get another option at Chambers Creek Properties.

Pierce County will open a half-mile trail segment on the west side of Environmental Services Building.

The connects to the Grandview and Soundview trails just north of the ESB, then runs down the slope below the ESB until it connects with lower Chambers Creek Road near the creek bridge.

It will eventually be connected with the South Meadow Loop and the Chambers Creek Canyon trails, β€œbut for now is just another opportunity for experiencing the properties,” according to Pierce County.

The trail segment provides cyclists with an alternative to dealing with vehicle traffic and narrow shoulders while ascending lower Chambers Creek Road.

The East Slope Trail segment is also the steepest on the properties, with a slope of more than 13 percent in the upper portion near the ESB. The Soundview Trail’s steepest portions of 10-percent slopes.
