Thunder, Hail Could Hit Thursday

The National Weather Service says thunderstorms could produce hail the size of a dime.

Anyone who got too comfortable with the region's recent string of sunny days could be in for a nasty surprise Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the Puget Sound region, as snow levels will drop to 500 feet and an unstable air mass could create thunderstorms.

"There is the possibility that the stronger thunderstorms could produce up to dime-size hail or large quantities of hail on the ground," according to the NWS website. "Anticipate gradually improving conditions Thursday night and Friday as the air mass stabilizes and higher pressure moves over the region."
