Why here: Near the entrance of the store, next to the great greeting card section (terrific cards for 99 cents by the way), you can pick up a pretty wicker basket with shredded paper for lining the bottom for a couple of bucks. Take that basket and fill it with Mom's favorite foods. Chocolates, teas, a salsa kit with chips, wine, cheese, whatever. Add some candles. Little indulgences at a great price. How fast can you say,  ready to go?

Why here: This store has an enormous selection of gorgeous Vera Bradley products, from soft, pretty cloth totes and purses to umbrellas and stationary. There's a vast and great selection of jewelry, candles, candies, slippers and flip flops. Better yet, you can pick up your card and gift bag and bow, too. One-stop shopping with longtime, great service. Easy.

Tacoma Art Museum (Tacoma)

Why here: Take Mom on Mother's Day to see the terrific and historic featuring the Americana art of Norman Rockwell. Just a museum tour you think? Think again. They are serving a great Mom's Day brunch right in the museum before you tour. No brunch? No problem. You can also make a day of it by staying for lunch instead or get the grab-and-go lunch box option (which you can take with you and picnic, urban style, on the Foss Waterway). Exquisite.

Pierce College (Lakewood)

Why here: Give the gift of continuing education for Mom. You can select a wide range of classes with Mom in mind and get a personalized gift certificate for her to redeem toward her new educational endeavor. Give the college a call, they will walk you through the easy process. Call today.

Why here: This great orchard, park, and music/entertainment venue offers apple trees for adoption. That's right. You can get Mom her very own apple tree for a season (check the website for adoption packages and processes). Then in the fall, she'll score a bunch of great apples (all the more to make you an apple pie with).

Share your ideas in comments on other thoughts for last minute gift giving. Good luck and best wishes shoppers and Happy Mother's Day from The List to all the moms out there!
