Marc Grau knew the community was generous, but the public response to his cafe's first Christmas toy drive was more than surprising.
Earlier this week, a pair of women dropped off two large bags full of toys. Others have followed suit.
"It's been amazing," the owner of Frog n Kiwi Cafe in University Place said while standing over some 80 donated toys that he planned to deliver to Toys for Tots. "In our economic condition, I think everyone is struggling a little bit. I think it's kind of nice that children won't feel left out."
While Frog n Kiwi - which will deliver its donations around noon Thursday - is collecting donations for Toys for Tots, there are plenty of South Sound businesses that are accepting donations.
If you know of a business or organization that is still collecting toys, please tell us in the comment section below. It's also helpful to know what organization the toys will benefit, as well as the last day that people can donate.
C'mon South Sound. Given the , let's all try to make every child's holidays especially happy this year.

"If they could be dropped off in the new year - we'd still take them at Communities in Schools of Lakewood ... Our address is 6402 100th St. SW.... Donations could be left (in plastic bags) on the porch." Thanks Christina!
