Patch Answers: University Place Library's Whirligig Is Whirli-Gone

A Patch reader's question regarding a tall toy at the University Place library is answered.

After we wrote about the University Place ,Β Patch contributor asked the following question:

"Hey Brent, Do you know happened to the tall ABC toy that reached the ceiling in the children's area in the library?"

I forwarded the question University Place Librarian Cindy Bonaro, who gave us the following answer:

"We had to take it down as it had design flaws that needed ongoing repair," she wrote "The library is currently reviewing other fun and exciting replacements for the Whirligig."

Mary Getchell, spokeswoman for Pierce County Libraries, added this:

"Unfortunately and surprisingly, twice a piece of the Whirligig fell off of the structure. The Whirligig had a design flaw and we returned it to the manufacturer and got our money back!"
