Mom Talk: A Weekend to Celebrate Dad
Giving the men in our lives some well deserved love.
I'm going to switch gears from our usual discussion about the rollercoaster that is parenthood. There is so much joy in the birth of a child. His first step. Her first word. All of the really sweet stuff -- followed by all of the things that cause us to have gray hairs.
As mothers and fathers, our hearts get to smile more than most. Any parent would agree with that statement. And all in the same breath I have read a quote that read: "Mother Nature is providential. She gives us twelve years to develop a love for our children before turning them into teenagers."
Thank you for the chuckle, William Galvin.

This weekend is one of those holidays to really "pay back" at least one of our parents for all they do for us: Father's Day. It is a tribute to dads everywhere for wiping away our tears; teaching us how to throw a ball; reconfirming the rules with a deep voice and raised eyebrow (maybe that one was just my dad); and one day walking their baby girls down the aisle?
Dadas, Pops, Papas, Daddys, The "old man" everywhere, Happy Father's Day.

Now, how are we to thank these men for the crucial roles they have played in our lives or the lives of our children?
Have you made your tie-shaped card? Bought that signed baseball from his favorite team? Planned a movie night featuring the great westerns/Sci-Fi/war story/sports triumph? Or maybe just planning to make your dad his favorite meal on Sunday?
Share your ideas or maybe some sweet stories of a dad you love.
